Throughout my career I have contributed to peer-reviewed eye research and hold multiple international publications and teaching materials.
My experience of personally performing cataract surgery in patients with and without other eye conditions — including diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration — and supervising trainee surgeons over many years encouraged me to share my surgical knowledge. I wrote, illustrated and published a comprehensive textbook on cataract surgery. The book is used as a guide for residents learning cataract surgery and for consultant trainers on how to teach safely across the country.
I have lectured on performing cataract surgery for the Cybersight Foundation. Copies of these online webinars are freely available and used by trainees globally to develop safe surgical technique.
